In our environment, we maintain customer-specific IT policies in Hudu as their own asset type.
These policies define key operational and security procedures — such as how users are created or removed, how computers are deployed or decommissioned, and which parties are responsible for each step.
Each policy also includes review information: when it was created, when it must be reviewed next, and by whom.
This model works well, but there’s currently no way to automatically associate policies with other related assets (for example, linking a “Workstation Policy” to every computer asset within the same customer).
We would like to see workflow-level automation capabilities that allow these relationships to be created and maintained automatically based on configurable rules.
Desired functionality
• Allow workflows to link or attach assets dynamically using conditions and metadata.For example:
• When a new Computer asset is created, automatically associate it with the customer’s Workstation Policy asset.• When a User asset is created, attach the User Management Policy for that customer.• Support filters and conditions (e.g., by asset type, tag, or location).• Allow these links to be created, updated, or removed automatically if conditions change (e.g., when a device moves to a different site).• Optionally trigger tasks or reminders when associated policies are nearing review or renewal dates.Benefits
