Currently the integration sync engine will create a new hudu asset when syncing from another source and uses the asset name from that source as the asset name in Hudu. This is all great and what we'd expect. We want to eliminate manual repetitive data entry though, and we want to continue to respect the idea of a "single source of truth." So with that in mind, we would love to be able to identify fields in the integration that will auto-fill only when an asset is first created (just like the name field already is.)
We would only use this for fields we consider "immutable" such as serial number/asset tag. This makes each item unique in Hudu and not just in the other source as a hudu "card." This is particularly helpul in situations where a card might need to be rematched. Having immutable data on the asset itself makes it easier to identify mismatches and fixing assets that have cards from multiple sources (PSA, network monitoring, RMM)
