I know that this is on the radar but not in any roadmap. I just want to get it "out there" again for other people to discuss.
Password management here alongside sharing, logging and more is really really nice and I'm starting to use it - however, it is only really a replacement for lower end databases like Keepass….
…Once (if) 2FA/auto entry and other tools are implemented, it could easily compete with other client tools.
However, It is not a replacement (yet?!) for other "enterprise" password managers - either on the lower end like passportal, or on the higher end Hashicorp Vault, Thycotic Secret Server, ClickStudios Passwordstate etc.
I'm talking about features such as disabling accounts on the machine until a password is requested, enabling the account with a random password for a few minutes, revoking accounts/PKI and many many more features.
Whilst I would love to see this in Hudu, no one is expecting it (well, similar to just Passportal would be nice!), and therefore I think it would be great to have some sort of full API/ability to utilise external password managers whilst also keeping what makes Hudu great.
e.g. being able to relate a credential on any entry to the entry on the third party system - whilst ideally still allowing Hudu to share and similar.
Would love to hear thoughts from others!
